I doubt that, 25 years ago, an architect drafting by hand would choose not to look into CAD technology if all he/she designed was single family custom homes.

Rather, wouldn’t one simply look at factors such as efficiency and time-savings? Of course! Architects were interested in saving time and money, no matter how small the job. And they recognized that as a necessity, which subsequently created a landslide movement from traditional hand drawing to Computer Aided Drafting (CAD).
